Angel babies

I was in a restaurant last weekend where the wait staff was very busy carrying around food and ushering people to tables. Amongst all the hub-bub, this mother was letting her baby toddle around from table to table, and then saying thing like, "Oh, don't disturb their evening" and "Let's not bother the pretty lady" but not doing anything to prevent the kid from grabbing things off tables and just staring at people. Kids like to stare unabashedly. This kid was definitely cute. And the mother was just waiting for people to tell her how cute the baby was. Does your baby look cute with hot soup on her head?

Finally, a waiter told the mother to stop letting the kid wander everywhere because she was going to get something spilled on her. Do people lose their minds when they have babies?
