Not quite appropriate

I was doing some shopping near work yesterday and while I was walking along the sidewalk, I noticed a boxer puppy had spotted me and started wiggling in that cute puppy way. I couldn't see his owner because the guy was standing behind a pole, so at first I wasn't even sure if the puppy was with someone or just tied to something. Well of course I bent down and fussed over him ("HIIII PUPPY!") and then said something like "Boy, he's adorable" before looking up at his owner. Who I then finally got a good look at. Who was a total thug. I totally just said "adorable" to a thug.
