SuperME

I just saw "Superman Returns" and while the movie was alright, I came to the realization that I've never seen anything Superman before. I didn't read the comics, didn't see the old movies, didn't watch the tv shows (if there were tv shows to be watched). Oh wait. I did watch the occasional Lois and Clark. Yet, as a kid, I was Superman for Halloween one year. And then of course, so was my sister. We were BOTH Superman. Supermen.

"Trick or treat!"
"Oh! Supergirls!"
"No. SuperMAN." (There's no such thing as Supergirl, silly woman.)

So I found that while I knew that Superman was stronger than a locomotive, etc., I never really knew Superman. What I mean is, who knew Superman was this super! The guy can fly faster than a space shuttle and lift an island! He can take a bullet in his eye! He doesn't waste time with ridiculous Batman gadgets. Even Spiderman gets beat up now and then. But no, not Superman. (Except for that pesky Kryptonite problem, but hey, we all have our weaknesses.)

Also. I didn't know that Superman hangs out in space. In SPACE! He's so super, he can fly right out of the atmosphere.

Time for you to finally jump on the Star Wars bandwagon too. And no, Spock is not part of that.

Wow, weren't we just a couple of shmucks... running around ON THE SIDEWALK with our arms stretched out as if we were flying in Earth's atmosphere.
