Prisoner

This morning, I went into the bathroom at work, turned the handle on the stall, locking it, and then the handle fell off. Awesooooome.

So I fiddled with the lock for a while unsuccessfully. I thought about crawling under. But really, I don't care how clean the bathroom looks, crawling around on a bathroom floor is a Top 10 Thing Not To Do in my book. What a great day to wear cashmere and light pants. So then I thought about going over. Ever notice how tall stalls are? I didn't either, until today. Maaaaybe you could leap from the toilet, but getting up close and personal with a toilet is another Top 10 Thing Not To Do.

And THEN, because it was 7 am and all the lights were still on motion sensor, they turned off and I was plunged into darkness. And I mean, can't-see-your-hand-in-front-of-your-face darkness. Then I thought about vampires and got scared. (Twilight, you guys!) Then I thought about whether throwing balled up toilet paper over by the sinks would activate the sensor and turn the lights on. It does not, in case you were wondering. Also, in case you were wondering, trying to find the toilet paper in complete darkness without encountering the toilet is almost as scary as vampires.

Finally, because I am adverse to the grossness my other options presented me, I kept fiddling blindly with the lock and the handle and managed to open the stall, thereby freeing me and allowing me to type this blog. WHEW.
